FAQ Before you write
Questions people ask before they commission the work.
These are the objections and practical questions that come up before a proposal. If yours is not here, the contact form is the right place for it. Short answers are below. The full commercial terms are on the offer.
Fit and scope
What does an engagement actually produce?
Documents your own people can use. A diagnostic produces a current-state sketch, a friction register, and a shortlist. A design engagement produces the future-state flow, ownership, decision and cadence notes, and, when it is in scope, a 90-day sequence. The exact list is the list in the proposal, which follows the service descriptions. You do not receive a stack of slides as a substitute for those documents.
Is this a software or ERP project?
No. Elena Drancova does not select a vendor for a fee, configure a system, or write integration specifications. If a system is forcing a bad handoff, that observation can appear in the friction register. Fixing the system is a different profession and a different contract.
We already have process documents. Why are they not working?
Usually because they describe a happy path, name no owner, and say nothing about the exception that happens every week. People then invent a faster private path. The diagnostic reads both the document and a sample of cases. The gap between them is the work, not a reason to blame the staff for ignoring a poster.
Do we have to start with a diagnostic?
No. Start with a diagnostic when the cause is still disputed. Start with a design engagement when you can already show a current state the practice can test. The fit conversation is where that choice is made. You will not be sold a diagnostic as a toll on the way to work you have already defined.
What is a poor fit?
Requests for temporary staff, software implementation, legal or tax advice, certification against a standard, or a motivational workshop with no operating documents. Also a poor fit: a request for a guaranteed percentage saving. The practice will decline those. The boundary is also written on the about page.
Which language is the work conducted in?
English. Interviews, drafts, reviews, and the final documents are in English. The practice is based in Chișinău. The address on this site is in Romanian because that is the form of the street address. It does not mean the engagement is conducted in Romanian.
Fees and timing
How are fees set?
As a fixed fee in a written proposal, after the fit conversation and before work starts. The fee follows the boundary: one flow or two, diagnostic only or design, how many interviews, and whether a sequence is included. There is no published rate card and no success fee. Payment timing is in the proposal. Nothing is charged for the 45-minute fit conversation.
How long does the work take?
A diagnostic is typically 10 to 15 working days. A design engagement is typically four to eight weeks. Both assume you can produce people and cases when the schedule requires them. If access is late, the end date moves. Those ranges are typical, not a promise for a scope that has not been written. Your dates will be the dates in the proposal.
Do you work only in Moldova?
The practice is based at Strada Petru Rareș 77 in Chișinău. Engagements can be on site in the city or remote, in English. If you want the practice to travel outside Chișinău, that travel is quoted as its own line and is not booked until you accept it. Remote work does not require you to have a Moldovan company.
Can you guarantee time saved or a lower cost?
No. A serious process design can remove rework, unclear handoffs, and repeated decisions. Whether that shows up as hours or money depends on how you use the capacity, and on factors the practice does not control. A proposal that promises a percentage before the cases have been read is not a document this practice will sign. The Disclaimer states the same limit for the website itself.
Working together
Who needs to be involved from our side?
Someone who can accept a proposal. Someone who coordinates access. The people who actually touch the flow, for interviews. And, at the decision review, the people whose acceptance matters. A review with deputies who must then check upstairs will be recorded as unfinished. See the decision review.
Will you interview our staff?
Yes, when the service includes fieldwork. Interviews are prepared and specific. People are told why they are there. A diagnostic includes up to eight interviews. Staff are not asked to perform for a workshop. Comments that will affect a conclusion are checked back when the fact is load-bearing.
What if we disagree with the design?
You reject or amend the point in the decision review. Rejected points stay on the open-point list. They are not rewritten to look accepted. You are not obliged to adopt a design you have not accepted, and the practice is not obliged to pretend a rejected point was never recommended. The fee covers the work described in the proposal, including a review that ends in a partial acceptance.
Will you stay to run the process?
No. Handover is the end of the engagement, plus 15 business days of written questions about the documents on a design engagement. Staying on as an interim manager would mean the design still depends on the practice. If you need more help later, it is a new written scope, not an assumption.
Is this an ISO or certification project?
No. The practice does not certify you against ISO or any other standard, and it does not write a management system whose purpose is to pass an audit. If a clear process happens to help an audit later, that is your affair with your auditor. It is not the product being sold here.
Confidentiality and practical matters
How is confidentiality handled?
Material you share for an engagement is used for that engagement. It is not published as a case study unless you agree in writing. The proposal carries the contractual wording. The website enquiry is separate and lighter: the Privacy Policy explains what happens to your name, email, and message. Do not send highly sensitive case files through the public form. Wait until a proposal says how files should be exchanged.
What access do you need?
The documents that already describe the flow, even if they are stale. A sample of recent cases. Time with the people named in the proposal. A coordinator who can unblock a cancelled interview. The practice does not need administrator access to your systems.
How do we start?
Use the contact form or email [email protected]. Describe the process question, who it affects, and the decision you need to make. The practice replies on business days with a view on a fit conversation. The path from there is set out on how we work.
